Getting pumped for your first music festival?

You won't be alone. Over 32 million people attend at least one music festival in the United States each year.

Searching for some insider tips before you go? Keep reading for ten music festival hacks you definitely appreciate knowing!

1. Money Belt

Laugh if you want, but do you want to risk being the person who loses everything because they either dropped their wallet or had it stolen from a back pocket? Money belts, or fanny packs, are some of the best things to bring to a music festival.

Keep your money and important items secure and close to you at all times. Even if you find yourself moshing until the wee hours of the morning.

2. Portable Phone Charger

Your phone will die. There is no question. Bring a portable phone charger (or two) in addition to your regular cables.

It is a good idea to pick up some chargers that are battery-operated if you are camping out.

3. First Aid Kit

Most festivals will have a medical tent, but prepare for minor scrapes and cuts by bringing your own kit. Stock up on band-aids and Neosporin.

4. Waterproof Bag

Even if you checked the weather app 100 times, rain can just happen. While you can still enjoy some jams in the rain, bring a waterproof bag to protect your phone, money, and other water sensitive items.

5. Shower Wipes

These are a good idea if you are doing any type of camping at the festival. It likely will be hot, sweaty, and smelly. You may not have access to a real shower. Do yourself and your friends a favor and pack plenty wipes.

6. Extra Clothes

Because you just never know what will happen. Bring at least one extra outfit, even if you aren't camping out.

7. Sunscreen

Music festivals are outdoors during the warmer months. Bring plenty of sunscreens and be religious about reapplying. Even if you aren't ghostly white, you could become a lobster in no time at all.

It's a good idea to bring a hat and sunglasses too.

8. Best Music Festival Hacks Means Snacks

Food can be way overpriced at festivals, so think ahead and bring travel-friendly snacks with you. Think nuts, protein bars, and veggies.

9. Water Bottle

Bring a water bottle, a large one if possible. You likely will be standing around in the sun all day packed with other sweaty people. Stay hydrated to avoid heat exhaustion.

10. Jumper Cables

If you drive your own car to a festival, be sure to have jumper cables. You don't want to experience that feeling of dread when your car battery is dead and you don't have a way to get a jump.
